The new Walmart store on H Street is not only the first Walmart to be built in Washington, D.C., but also features a unique concept for the retailer. Part of an “urban experiment,” the store is a small 73,000 square feet in size, sits below a 303-unit apartment complex, and is designed to serve the specific needs of the neighborhood.
Heritage Mechanical successfully performed as the mechanical contractor.
“This is a new and innovative store concept for Walmart,” said Joe Parker, president of Heritage Mechanical. “It’s been exciting to see this project come together and to know that this is the first Walmart to enter the District.”
